| So I figured I'd keep a log of my days here in Taiwan so I'd have somewhere to look if I need to remember my trip. DAY 1 Yesterday morning, as soon as I woke up, my mom and I went to go visit the outdoor market by my grandmother's house. I ended up buying 3 tops and a dress. All for less than 20 dollars. Spiffy. Afterwards, my aunt took my mom and I to my mom's friend's place. They talked for a couple of hours, reminiscing about old times. Afterwards, we went and ate dumplings. We dropped my mom's friend off and made our way to my other aunt's store. My mom had me walk in and act like a customer to see if my aunt would recognize who I am, since she hasn't seen me in 2 years. However, as soon as I walked in, she knew who I was. After we visited my aunt, we went and got my uncle and cousin. We made our way up to Taipei and visited my grandfather's grave. I must say, it's just a little scary there. The whole mountain side is covered with graves. While we were up there, it started raining and as we left, it began to rain really hard. We went to my grandmother's house and had dinner with the family. Then, we went to an optometrist and got me some new glasses. They're so much cheaper here. After that, my uncle drove us to this cafe that is on a hillside. We had a panoramic view of the ocean (which we couldn't see cause it night time already), the Taipei airport, and the city lights. It was amazing. I guess it's equivalent to our Angel's Crest? Anyway, we had some treats like coconut toast, peanut butter toast, and waffles. My cousin and I orderd some rosewater milk tea. That was the most amazing milk tea I had ever tasted. End of day one. As for today, I haven't really done much. I guess it's more of a chill day for my mom and I. My cousin took me to get breakfast this morning. I got a sandwich, which was DELICIOUS, for less than a dollar. And well, that's all I've really done. My mom and her siblings are in the apartment across sing some K-A-R-O-K-E! Well, that's that for now I guess. Now, I shall go back to my steady diet strawberry hi-chews and milk tea! |
